Rohit Sharma continues to showcase his batting prowess in the World Cup with the Indian skipper becoming the first batter from the country to hit 50 sixes in a calendar year in ODIs. He achieved this milestone during the World Cup match against New Zealand in Dharamsala. Overall, Rohit is the third batter to smash fifty ODI sixes in a calendar year after AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle. Rohit now has a total of 53 sixes and has a chance to become the highest six-hitter in a calendar year. In terms of most sixes in ODI World Cups, Rohit has overtaken de Villiers and is now second on the list, with Chris Gayle in the lead. Earlier, Rohit also became the third batter to smash 300 sixes in ODIs and recorded the most sixes in international cricket across formats.
