The undercurrent of distrust and dislike between JD(S) chief HD Kumaraswamy and chief minister Siddaramaiah deepened with the JD(S) floor leader calling his one-time party colleague the modern reincarnation of Mir Sadiq. Sadiq, a minister during Tipu Sultan’s rule, conspired with the British, Tipu’s enemy. His name is now synonymous with being a traitor. Reacting to Kumaraswamy’s jibe on social media, Siddaramaiah said that it is like one who cannot dance, blaming the stage. Similarly, he is allegedly in vain. To this, Kumaraswamy alleged that Siddaramaiah brought down the JD(S)-Congress coalition government and called him the reincarnation of Mir Sadiq. He challenged Siddaramaiah to come out and state the truth.
