India vice-captain Hardik Pandya will not participate in the World Cup match against England as he continues to recover from a left ankle injury, according to batsman KL Rahul. Pandya sustained the injury while attempting to stop a shot with his leg during India’s victory over Bangladesh in Pune. He was subsequently unable to participate in India’s win over New Zealand, where Suryakumar Yadav, his replacement, was run out for two. Rahul acknowledged Pandya’s absence as a significant loss for the team but expressed confidence in Yadav’s abilities. India, who have won all of their matches while chasing, will aim to take down England and recapture the top position in the standings. Despite England’s recent poor performance, Rahul stressed the need for India to remain cautious and focus on their own strengths. Rahul also mentioned that it would be beneficial for India to bat first in order to test themselves before the next stage of the tournament.
