A section of the Muslim community has made an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lay the foundation stone of the mosque in Dhannipur village of Ayodhya. This request comes as PM Modi is scheduled to visit Ayodhya on January 22 for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple. The Muslim community believes that since PM Modi is coming to inaugurate the place of worship for Hindus, he should also lay the foundation for the mosque. Mufti Hisbullah Badshah Khan, the president of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, Ayodhya, emphasized that PM Modi is the Prime Minister of all communities and should consider their request. Athar Husain, the secretary of the Ayodhya Masjid Trust, stated that their goal is to build a free cancer hospital, a mosque, a community kitchen, and a research center, and PM Modi’s presence could help them achieve this. Iqbal Ansari, a former litigant in the Ayodhya case, also expressed the view that PM Modi should extend his support to the mosque as he has done for the temple. This appeal by the Muslim community highlights their desire for inclusivity and equal treatment in religious matters.
