Actress Sharmila Tagore received the prestigious Imtiaz-e-Jamia award from Jamia Millia Islamia on its 103rd foundation day. The award was conferred on her by Jamia Vice Chancellor Najma Akhtar. Tagore, who was the chief guest at the event, expressed her gratitude towards the university and the kindness shown to her over the years. She also inaugurated the centenary gate of the varsity along with the Vice Chancellor and ILBS Director. Imtiaz-e-Jamia is the highest award of Jamia Millia Islamia, given to honor Indians for their contributions to society. Several students and professors were also felicitated during the event for their achievements.
