A large number of protesters stormed the bungalow of NCP MLA Prakash Solanke in Majalgaon, Beed district, setting it ablaze. This incident marked the beginning of a series of violent incidents across Beed. The protesters also torched the NCP district headquarters and the bungalows/offices of other politicians. The agitators threatened to burn government offices if they were not shut immediately. As a result, most government offices in Beed district were closed. The protests led to the imposition of curbs on gatherings in Beed city. The security personnel guarding Solanke’s bungalow were outnumbered by the protesters, resulting in extensive damage to the property. The flames from the burning vehicles in the parking area spread to other places and engulfed a large portion of the bungalow. The protesters also targeted the premises of the Majalgaon municipal council, raising concerns about crucial records being destroyed. In addition, the office of the Shiv Sena district president and parked state transport buses were set on fire at the Beed bus stand. BJP MLA Prashant Bamb’s office in Gangapur was ransacked by protesters. These violent acts were carried out by individuals demanding reservation for the Maratha community.
