Mamaearth’s Ghazal Alagh on Why the Company’s IPO Has a High OFS

Ghazal Alagh, cofounder and chief innovation officer of Honasa Consumer, the parent company of Mamaearth, addressed a query on social media about the high amount of the offer for sale (OFS) component in the company’s IPO. Alagh explained that the largest investor is not selling any shares, the promoters hold 97% ownership, and those selling in OFS hold more than they are selling. An OFS involves the sale of existing shares by large stakeholders, and the funds from the sale go directly to the selling shareholders rather than the company itself.
