Supreme Court grants interim protection to journalists in Adani-Hindenburg row

The Supreme Court has granted interim protection from arrest to two journalists in connection with an article written by them on the Adani-Hindenburg row. The journalists, Ravi Nair and Anand Mangnale, had challenged the summonses issued by the Ahmedabad crime branch asking them to appear for questioning regarding the police’s preliminary enquiry into their article published on the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) website. The Adani Group had faced a downturn in their stocks after Hindenburg Research made allegations of fraudulent transactions and share-price manipulation against the conglomerate. The group has denied the charges and stated that it complies with all laws and disclosure requirements.
