A breather in the market would be a better opportunity for investors to re-engage with Indian equities, said Manraj S Sekhon, chief investment officer of Templeton Global Equity Investments. In an interview, Sekhon stated that while the long-term optimism for India remains intact, valuations are currently a little extended. He emphasized the foreign interest in India and the importance of waiting for an opportunity to re-engage. Sekhon also discussed the hesitancy of foreign investors in bringing in big long-term money, the need for Emerging Markets funds excluding China, the impact of US yields and interest rates, the odds of a US recession, and the impact of the Israel-Hamas conflict on markets.
