COP28 President-designate Dr. Sultan Al Jaber lauded India for its commitment to energy transition during its tenure as Presidency of the G20. He acknowledged the importance of a “new paradigm” in climate finance to support low carbon development in global south countries. Dr. Al Jaber emphasized the need for every nation to adopt sustainable practices and transition to renewable energy sources. He commended India’s efforts and called for further collaboration and funding to accelerate the global energy transition.
