Congress State general secretary F.H. Jakkappanavar has called on the party to select a woman candidate to contest from Dharwad Lok Sabha constituency in the upcoming elections. In a press release, he reminded that the Congress has long been promoting women’s participation in politics and cited the previous victory of Congress candidate Sarojini Mahishi from the same constituency. Jakkappanavar also highlighted the party’s support for women’s reservation in politics and criticized the delay in implementing it by the current government.
