Miss Universe 2022, R’Bonney Gabriel, crowned Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua as Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador. Sheynnis Palacios emerged as the winner of the 72nd Miss Universe pageant. The first runner-up was Anntonia Porsild from Thailand, and the second runner-up was Moraya Wilson from Australia. The final question asked to all the top three contestants was about living one year in another woman’s shoes. Sheynnis Palacios chose Mary Wollstonecraft for opening up opportunities for women. Anntonia Porsild chose Malala Yousafzai, and Moraya Wilson chose her own mother. Miss Universe 2023 had several highlights, including the participation of 84 countries, the first-ever transgender participants, and a historic performance by John Legend. The next edition of Miss Universe will be held in Mexico.
