Pakistan applies for BRICS membership, seeks Russia’s support

Pakistan has formally expressed its desire to become a member of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) group. Muhammad Khalid Jamali, Pakistan’s envoy to Moscow, has confirmed that the country has filed an application to join the BRICS group in 2024. Pakistan is hoping for Russia’s support during the membership process. BRICS is an association of major emerging economies that aims to enhance cooperation and promote mutual development.
