Delhi High Court Summons SpiceJet MD in Dispute Over Interest Dues

The Delhi High Court has summoned SpiceJet MD Ajay Singh to appear in court in January regarding a dispute over interest dues on an arbitral award of over Rs 570 crore. The award was passed in favor of the airline’s former promoter, Kalanithi Maran. Maran’s lawyer stated that SpiceJet had only paid Rs 100 crore towards the dues, despite the amount being Rs 440 crore. SpiceJet’s advocate argued that the due amount was only Rs 194 crore. The airline’s financial difficulties were also highlighted, with the lawyer stating that forcing them to pay in cash would be detrimental to all parties involved.
