India’s talent pool, digital adoption, and start-up ecosystem align well with the Baltic region’s prominence in e-governance, digital innovation, supply chain management, and other frontier industries, according to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Speaking at the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII)-Nordic Baltic conference, Jaishankar highlighted the opportunities for cooperation between India and the Nordic Baltic countries. He emphasized the economic baseline and the need to build further in areas such as trade, investment, and technology collaboration. The Minister also mentioned the establishment of embassies and institutional frameworks, as well as the potential for collaboration in renewable energy, port-led development, fisheries, and scientific research in the Arctic and Antarctic. Jaishankar expressed confidence in the promising relationship between India and the Nordic Baltic countries and the role of CII in realizing its considerable potential.
