Four days after India lost the Cricket World Cup final against Australia, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the defeat and described him as an ‘inauspicious person’. Lalu’s comments invited bitter reactions from the BJP, which labeled him as ‘ashubh’ instead. This is not the first time that Lalu has made such remarks against the PM. In the past, he has accused Modi of being the cause behind rainfall deficit in Bihar and disasters in the country. The BJP retaliated by highlighting Lalu’s track record and calling him an inauspicious person. Lalu’s remarks were also criticized by the JD(U), which blamed PM Modi for naming the cricket stadium after Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel. The party claimed that the country had to suffer due to this action.
