Threat to Blow Up Mumbai Airport if Bitcoin Ransom Not Paid

A threat mail was received at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), warning of a blast at Terminal 2. The sender of the mail demanded one million dollars in Bitcoin within 48 hours to prevent the explosion. The threat mail was sent to the feedback inbox of the airport, and the sender used the email id ‘quaidacasrol@gmail.com’. The police have registered a case against an unknown person for sending the threat mail. Security has been heightened at the airport following the threat. Vismay Pathak, an executive at Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), came across the threat mail and reported it to the authorities. The police have tracked the IP address used to send the threat mail and are in the process of identifying the sender. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
