OECD Praises India’s Impactful G20 Presidency

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has applauded India’s effective leadership during its G20 presidency. In particular, the OECD Sherpa, Emmanuel Schaal, praised India’s accomplishments in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Digital Public Infrastructure, and climate finance. Schaal emphasized the significance of including the African Union (AU) in the G20, an idea proposed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The OECD has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with both AU and South Africa, aiming to strengthen collaboration between the organizations. This move demonstrates India’s commitment to fostering global partnerships and driving inclusive growth on a larger scale. Through its G20 presidency, India has made valuable contributions to advancing sustainable development, digital infrastructure, and climate resilience.
