With cricket fever in the country high again after the recent retention announcements by 10 teams of Indian Premier League (IPL) ahead of the auction in Dubai, many were unhappy with the news of Australian player Josh Hazlewood being released by Royal Challengers Bangalore.

RCB, which has one of the most heartbreaking campaigns in IPL history, announced during the retention event that it has released 11 players to expand their auction purse.

On Hazlewood’s release, RCB’s newly-appointed head coach Andy Flower stated in a released video that their decision was influenced by the player expecting a child at the end of March next year.

Another significant trade for RCB saw Mumbai Indian’s Cameron Green transferred to their team. IPL’s statement issued on Monday confirms the trade and mentions that both trades have been made according to existing player fees.
