In a bid to address the challenges faced by women selling lottery tickets, the State Women’s Commission Chairperson, P. Sathidevi, announced the panel’s intention to submit a comprehensive report on the matter to the State government. The announcement was made during a public hearing held at the Kannur Police Cooperative Society auditorium, which focused on the issues faced by women lottery sellers. The objective of the report is to recommend to the government the need for educating lottery workers about welfare schemes, welfare funds, and other benefits. The meeting was presided over by Indira Ravindran, a member of the Women’s Commission, and P.P. Divya, the District Panchayat President, also spoke. The report aims to shed light on the plight of women lottery sellers and highlight the challenges they face on a daily basis.
