Maxwell’s outstanding performance came in Australia’s third T20I against India in Guwahati. Chasing a challenging target of 223 runs, Maxwell played a breathtaking innings, scoring an unbeaten 104 off just 48 balls. His knock included 8 fours and an equal number of sixes, taking the Indian bowlers to the cleaners. Maxwell’s century overshadowed Ruturaj Gaikwad’s maiden T20I century, ensuring Australia’s thrilling last-ball victory. India captain Suryakumar Yadav praised Maxwell’s incredible knock and acknowledged the difficulty in getting him out. Yadav also mentioned that their plan was to dismiss Maxwell quickly, but his amazing stroke play made it impossible. Maxwell, who was awarded the Man of the Match, attributed his success to the dew and his strategy to take the game deep.
