Parts of the city continued to remain inundated on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, as residents in Chennai faced difficulties reaching the Greater Chennai Corporation’s hotline. Complaints from Velachery, Kodungaiyur, and Saidapet highlighted the issue of canceled calls and busy lines. Network connection problems have further worsened the situation for residents. In response, the Corporation has set up a separate system to address SOS-level complaints, particularly for pregnant women, children, and the elderly. The toll-free helpline, 1913, has received 7,129 complaints as of December 6, 2023. Officials are also monitoring social media and the Namma Chennai app for complaints.
