India and Kenya are working towards strengthening relations in defense, maritime, and connectivity sectors. During talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President William Ruto, India announced a new $250 million line of credit to support Kenya’s agriculture sector. The two nations also signed five agreements and issued a vision document for maritime cooperation in the Indian Ocean. The meeting also addressed the issue of two missing Indian nationals in Kenya, with the Indian government closely monitoring the case. Additionally, Kenya offered land for Indian companies and institutions to cultivate crops, aiming to enhance bilateral agricultural cooperation and increase trade between the two countries. Both India and Kenya emphasized the need to counter terrorism and agreed to increase mutual cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism. They also expressed their commitment to expanding defense cooperation, including training exchanges and collaboration between defense industries. The joint statement highlighted the importance of ship visits and high-level exchanges between both sides.
