The ongoing ‘Vikasit Bharat’ campaign – about which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid regular insistence – is set to be the key poll plank of BJP during the Lok Sabha polls next year. In the first parliamentary party meeting during the ongoing winter session of parliament, the Prime Minister on Thursday reasserted focus on the campaign, asking party lawmakers to go full throttle to make it a successful campaign, through which the government has planned to saturate the delivery of the welfare initiatives.

The 2024 Lok Sabha will be the first when the BJP will be seeking another term after fulfilling its decades old poll promises like construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, abrogating exclusive privileges to the J&K under Article 370, abolition of triple talaq and also implementing the CAA, likely to be done before announcement of the polls. Having delivered its key polls promises, the BJP under Modi has planned to reach out to the voters on “Pro incumbency” theme highlighting how the party has planned to make India a developed country by 2047, for which a countrywide campaign has been launched by the Modi government to saturate the welfare initiatives, ensuring last mile delivery in a time bound manner. The campaign was launched on November 14, the Tribal Pride Day, the birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda.

“We all must contribute in making the Viksit Bharat campaign a grand success,” the Prime Minister said in his address to the party lawmakers on Thursday. Bolstered by victories in assembly polls in the three heartland states, the Prime Minister had made a detailed mention in his victory speech last Sunday while making exhortations to the youth of the country to become ambassadors of the campaign and asked the party cadres to become its charioteers. In his address to the party workers at the BJP headquarters after an emphatic win in assembly polls in three heartland states, Modi made the appeal to lead the campaign to make India a developed nation.

“I call upon every youth of the country to become the ambassador of a developed India. He should lead the resolutions of a developed India,” the Prime Minister said in his address to the party workers at the BJP headquarters. Well placed sources said that the party will formally reach out to over five crore youth ahead of the Lok Sabha polls next year to lead the campaign to make people aware about how the Prime Minister has envisioned to make India a developed nation. The UP government joined the campaign to involve over 2 crore youth in the state. With the participation of states and UTs, Centre is actively engaged in the mission of saturation through its schemes, making required services accessible to all targeted and eligible beneficiaries.
