Facing scrutiny after large sums of money were discovered at properties associated with their Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Sahu, the Congress party asserted on Saturday that it has no affiliation with the former’s business dealings. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh took to social media to state that only Dhiraj Sahu can clarify the significant cash amounts reportedly found by income-tax authorities at his properties. Income Tax officials uncovered over Rs 200 crore in cash during raids related to Boudh Distilleries Private Limited and connected entities in Odisha and Jharkhand, including the residences of Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Sahu. Union Minister Smriti Irani criticised the Congress, questioning the Gandhi family about the source of the funds recovered from their party MP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also commented on the situation, emphasising the need to return any funds misappropriated from the public.
