BJP Initiates Measures to Improve Floor Co-ordination Among Members in Karnataka
    Uncategorized

The opposition BJP in Karnataka has taken precautionary measures to improve floor co-ordination among its members in the legislative assembly. After facing embarrassment due to lack of co-ordination among its members regarding whether to boycott or stage a dharna, the party introduced a system of holding daily meetings with senior members to decide on its legislature floor plan. These meetings have improved the co-ordination among BJP members, with the central leadership also intervening to ensure better co-ordination. The lack of co-ordination was evident when some members walked out with Leader of Opposition R. Ashok while others wanted to stage a dharna in the well of the House. The incident occurred after a heated exchange of words between the BJP and the ruling Congress. The delay in appointing a party whip and deputy leader of the opposition is blamed for the lack of co-ordination. The BJP is set to hold its legislature party meeting in Belagavi, but there is no clarity on whether the appointment of whip and deputy leader of the opposition would be finalized. In the absence of these positions, informal meetings of senior leaders will be held to prepare the floor plan for the day.
