Tribal leader and former Union Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has been chosen as the new Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Sai pledged to work with honesty and fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ promises. He stated that the first task would be to provide 18 lakh ‘Awas’ to the people. Sai, a prominent figure in the BJP, won the recent assembly polls from Kunkuri in north Chhattisgarh.

After being chosen as the Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai expressed his commitment to work honestly and gain everyone’s faith. He vowed to fulfill the guarantees made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’. Sai said, ‘With all honesty, I will work for ‘Sabka Vishwas’ and the promises made to the people of Chhattisgarh under ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ will be fulfilled. As the CM of the state, we will try to fulfill the promises.’ He added that the first task will be to provide 18 lakh ‘Awas’ to the people. Sai expressed gratitude towards PM Modi, Union HM Amit Shah, and BJP national president JP Nadda for showing trust in him.

Vishnu Deo Sai won the recently concluded assembly polls from Kunkuri in north Chhattisgarh, a region where the BJP has achieved significant success. He is a prominent figure in the BJP and has held various positions, including the former state chief and former union minister. Sai hails from the influential Sahu (Teli) community, which has a sizable presence in the Durg, Raipur, and Bilaspur divisions. He served as the State President of the BJP for Chhattisgarh from 2020 until 2022 and was the Union Minister of State for Mines and Steel in the first PM Modi cabinet. He is highly regarded among tribal voters.

Prior to Sai’s appointment, BJP central observers Sarbananda Sonowal and Arjun Munda held a meeting in Raipur. The polling in Chhattisgarh was conducted in two phases, with the BJP winning 54 out of the 90 assembly constituencies, while the Congress won 35.
