The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has withdrawn its affiliation from 25 schools in Manipur. Anjali Chongtham, the Joint Secretary Education (School) of Manipur, made the announcement on Tuesday. The affiliation was revoked because the schools had submitted NOCs that were not issued by authorized government officials. The state government had also requested the cancellation of affiliation for these schools on December 15. This decision by CBSE is a major setback for these schools and will impact their functioning and credibility. The affected schools will now have to seek affiliation from other recognized boards to continue their operations.
