A group of hackers has purportedly leaked more than 1.3 million files from Sony Corp.’s division, Insomniac Games, renowned for creating the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, according to reports.
This extensive leak encompasses game roadmaps, financial details, and comprehensive information about Insomniac’s upcoming Wolverine game, allegedly slated for a 2026 release. The leaked files suggest that Sony has strategic plans to unveil multiple Marvel-inspired titles over the next decade.
Online videos now showcase early footage of Wolverine and reveal previously undisclosed characters, along with details about the game’s cast, locations, plot, and a tentative release date. The data leak also reportedly contains a bootable build of Wolverine. Notably, a slide within the released data outlines Insomniac’s upcoming game lineup, featuring Marvel’s Venom in 2025, Marvel’s Wolverine in 2026, Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 in 2028, a new Ratchet & Clank in 2029, Marvel’s X-Men in 2030, and an untitled new IP in 2031/2032. It’s important to note that, as with any information revealed in the breach, this release schedule is subject to change.
Upon the initial discovery of the data breach, Sony issued a statement confirming an ongoing investigation, and clarified that no other Sony divisions were affected. Neither Sony nor Insomniac has commented on the recent publication of the leaked material.
