    Uncategorized

The Madras High Court has reserved its judgment on the writ of quo warranto petitions filed against Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister P.K. Sekarbabu, and the Nilgiris Member of Parliament A. Raja. The petitions were filed in connection with the ongoing Sanatana Dharma row. Justice Anita Sumanth deferred her verdict after the submission of written and oral arguments by the petitioners and the ministers. The Hindu Munnani office-bearers had filed the writ petitions, stating that elected legislators cannot act against Sanatana Dharma. The ministers and the MP questioned the maintainability of the petitions and argued against issuing a writ of quo warranto. After hearing all arguments, the judge reserved her verdict.
