The prime minister called Dhankhar on Wednesday morning to express his support. Dhankhar shared details of the phone call from the prime minister on his social media handle. The Vice President stated that he is committed to upholding the principles enshrined in the Constitution despite the insults. President Murmu also backed the Vice President, stating that elected representatives should express themselves within the norms of dignity and courtesy. Dhankhar adjourned the House twice due to the protest by Opposition members. He later criticized the Congress and other Opposition parties for the protest and mimicry incident.
