The Kerala high court has granted two-day escort parole to ‘Ripper’ Jayanandan, a serial killer serving life imprisonment, to enable him to take part in the launch of his book. Jayanandan, 56, has been convicted in five cases of murder in Kerala. He had previously escaped from jails in Trivandrum Central and Kannur. His daughter and wife fought for his release and the court granted the parole. The court appreciated his daughter’s efforts to secure the release order and mentioned that a father is a hero to every child. Jayanandan wrote the book in the 17 years that he has been in jail. The book, titled ‘Pulari Viriyum Munpe’, will be released on December 23 at the Ernakulam Press Club. Jayanandan has expressed his intention to donate the proceeds from the book for the welfare of children with special needs.
