A daily train will run between Ahmedabad and Ayodhya for 80 days to facilitate the darshan of Ram Temple after its inauguration in January 2024. Union home minister Amit Shah announced this on Sunday while addressing a public programme at Kalol in Gandhinagar. Shah stated that there will be a huge rush on the inauguration day and urged people to take turns to visit Ayodhya and chant Jai Shri Ram. He mentioned that one train is scheduled to run from Ahmedabad every day for the 80-day duration.
Shah also criticized the Congress party for neglecting Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and expressed his disappointment about Sardar Patel not receiving the Bharat Ratna award earlier. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for building the Statue of Unity and a dedicated museum for Sardar Patel. Shah highlighted the farsightedness of Patel in keeping the provisions of Article 370 and 35A as temporary, which were later abrogated by Modi.
In addition to this announcement, Shah attended multiple events in his Lok Sabha constituency and inaugurated the Gujarat Literature Festival in Ahmedabad.
