Hitting out at Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s remarks comparing him to Adolf Hitler, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired back, criticizing Erdogan for committing genocide against the Kurds and imprisoning journalists who oppose his regime. Netanyahu defended the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as the most moral army in the world, fighting to eliminate Hamas-ISIS, a terrorist organization Erdogan has praised. Erdogan had labeled Israel a terrorist state and vowed to take action in international courts. He cancelled his planned visit to Israel, claiming Turkey had no problem with the Israeli state but would not approve of Tel Aviv committing atrocities.
