A Russian Indologist in St. Petersburg has impressed Indian External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, with his translation of the epic Hindu scripture ‘Ramcharitmanas’ into Hindi. The indologist, who is a professor at St. Petersburg State University, showcased his translation to Dr. Jaishankar during a recent visit to Russia. Dr. Jaishankar lauded the indologist’s efforts in preserving and promoting Indian culture and literature in Russia, stating that the translation would help bridge the cultural gap between the two countries. The indologist’s work is expected to contribute to the enhancement of Indo-Russian cultural ties.
