ISRO to Usher in 2024 with Launch of Dedicated Scientific Satellite to Study Black Holes

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is gearing up to launch a dedicated scientific satellite in 2024 to further our understanding of black holes. This comes after the successful Gaganyaan Test Vehicle D1 mission carried out by ISRO in October. The satellite will be carried by the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C58 rocket, which will also deploy 10 other satellites in low Earth orbits.

The main payload of the mission, the XPoSat, will focus on studying X-ray polarisation and its evolution in cosmic sources, while the other satellites will have various objectives, including technology demonstration, imaging, and communication.
