A 26-year-old man named Pratap Singh Otti has been arrested for the abduction and rape of a 16-year-old minor girl in the Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district of Chhattisgarh. The accused’s mother, who supported him, is currently at large. Otti offered the girl a lift on his bike and then took her to a nearby forest where he raped her. He then kept her confined in his home for two days, repeatedly raping her and subjecting her to physical abuse. The accused and his mother assumed the girl was dead when she fell unconscious and threw her into a pond. The minor was discovered unconscious near the pond by local villagers, who alerted her family. She is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital. A case has been registered under the POCSO Act, and Otti has been arrested while his mother is on the run.
