A total of 619 cases of the COVID-19 sub-variant JN.1 have been reported from 12 States in India as of January 4, according to official sources. Karnataka has the highest number of cases with 199, followed by Kerala with 148 and Maharashtra with 110. Despite the rising number of cases, officials state that there is no cause for concern as the majority of infected individuals are opting for home treatment, suggesting mild illness.
