A group of Muslim ‘Rambhakts’ led by Muslim Mahila Foundation president Nazneen Ansari and Najma Parvin of Vishal Bharat Sansthan left for Ayodhya on Saturday to bring Ramjyoti to Kashi. The Ramjyoti will be given to the people to illuminate their houses on the day of consecration on January 22. This initiative is in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call that everyone should celebrate Diwali on January 22. The Ramjyoti Yatra was organized by Kashi-based Rampanth, a right-wing organization engaged in social work and centred around devotion to Ram. The yatra was flagged off by the Mahant of Patalpuri Math, Balak Das, from Subhash Bhawan in Lamahi village. After crossing through Jaunpur and Akbarpur, the Ramjyoti Yatra will reach Ayodhya, where the head of Saket Bhushan Shri Ram Temple, Mahant Shambhu Devacharya, will hand over the Ramjyoti to the group. After visiting the newly constructed Ram temple and Hanumangarhi, the group will return to Varanasi with the Ramjyoti on Sunday, where hundreds of Muslims of Purvanchal will gather to welcome it. Muslim Mahila Foundation president Nazneen Ansari and Najma Parvin have been organizing special programs on Ram Navami for the last 17 years. They have joined Rampanth and have been running the Ram Parivar Bhakti Movement, trying to connect the hearts of Hindus and Muslims. Nazneen, who studied conflict management at BHU, has translated Hanuman Chalisa and Ramcharitmanas in Urdu. She has been working tirelessly for unity and peace. Mahant Balak Das of Patalpuri Math is her guru, and she is engaged in spreading Ram Bhakti (devotion to Ram). Najma has done a PhD on PM Narendra Modi from BHU. She has been communicating with Muslims and Hindus across the country through Varanasi-based Hindu-Muslim Dialogue Centre. Nazneen and Najma have also fought against the triple talaq. Nazneen stated that everyone should join the happiness of Hindus, and the Ram temple is a ray of hope for the world to save society. Najma said that it has become necessary to follow the path of Lord Ram, and they will give Ramjyoti to Muslims so that they can be a part of the happiness by lighting the lamp. Rampanth chief Rajiv Sriguruji expressed that this effort by Muslim sisters will give rise to an emotional relationship between Hindus and Muslims, strengthening unity and brotherhood.
