Indian drug manufacturer Lupin has entered the US market with the launch of Varenicline tablets, which are used as an aid to smoking cessation treatment. The company received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for the product. Varenicline tablets are the generic equivalent of PF Prism CV’s Chantix tablets. The product is indicated for use as an aid to smoking cessation treatment. According to IQVIA data, Varenicline tablets had estimated annual sales of $412 million in the US market.
Shares of Lupin were trading 0.75% higher at Rs 1,406.50 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
