Drug firm Lupin has announced the launch of a new product in the US market. The Mumbai-based drug maker has introduced Varenicline tablets, which are used as an aid to smoking cessation treatment. The tablets are available in strengths of 0.5 mg and 1 mg. Lupin received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for the product. Varenicline tablets are the generic equivalent of PF Prism CV’s Chantix tablets. According to IQVIA data, Varenicline tablets had estimated annual sales of USD 412 million in the US.
