The police used water cannons to disperse Youth Congress (YC) activists who marched to the office of the District Police Chief in Kochi to protest the arrest of YC State President Rahul Mamkootathil. Led by district president Sijo Joseph, the march was inaugurated by Hibi Eden, MP, who criticized the state government for its double standards towards youth protests. The police barricaded the protesters near the Kochi Corporation office and fired water cannons multiple times. Protesters accused the police of attempting to redirect an ambulance before it was intervened by leaders. In an amusing incident, a misspelled sticker on a police vehicle became a source of amusement for the activists. The protesters vowed to intensify their protest in the coming days.
