Transformation of school education including a digital classroom will be the theme of Andhra Pradesh’s tableau at Republic Day this year. The state government has readied designs and the Centre cleared them. Senior officials of information and public relations department along with those of the education department are now busy giving finishing touches to the tableau to be paraded on January 26 in New Delhi.

The state government’s presentation to the high-level committee appointed by the Centre to look into various projects proposed by different states has received an instantaneous response and approval.

“The government of Andhra Pradesh strongly believes that education is an asset that we can inherit to children and all the expenditure spent on education will be an investment towards the future development of the state,” said the state government in its presentation.

Digital learning enhanced students’ skills

The government further noted: “It is believed that the digital transformation of the education ecosystem is much needed for the learners which will not only improve the skills of children but will also help to boost the economy of the country”.

It said it has brought revolutionary reforms and innovative schemes in the education sector and is moving ahead with the goal of making students global citizens by upgrading government schools to compete with corporate schools. “Our government has been providing quality education to the students by improving infrastructure in government schools,” said a senior official.

Students from government schools were provided with Vidhya Kaanuka kit consisting of nine types of items including free bilingual textbooks. English medium studies are introduced from the primary level in all government schools, and the syllabus has been linked with CBSE. The subject teacher concept has been introduced to promote digital education.
