In a major development, the Pakistan Supreme Court has rejected the iconic cricket bat symbol for Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party. This decision comes after the Peshawar high court had restored the symbol. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had approached the Supreme Court against the Peshawar HC verdict, alleging that PTI’s intra-party polls were held secretly and not in line with the party’s constitution. The three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, announced its verdict against the PTI on Saturday.
