India has strongly protested the visit of the British high commissioner in Islamabad to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK), calling it highly objectionable and asserting that such infringement of India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is unacceptable. The Indian government has summoned the British high commissioner and lodged a strong protest. This is not the first time India has raised objections to envoys of other countries visiting POK. In the past, similar protests have been lodged with envoys of the US and other countries. India maintains that POK is under illegal occupation of Pakistan. The government emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of India and will always remain so.
