The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Tuesday. Shares of IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 1.79 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.46 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.38 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.07 per cent), and Punjab National Bank(up 0.06 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack. On the other hand, Federal Bank Ltd.(down 2.13 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.3 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.55 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.5 per cent), and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.19 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day. The Nifty Bank index closed 0.07 per cent down at 48125.1. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 65.16 points at 22032.3, while the BSE Sensex stood down 199.17 points at 73128.77. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 ended in the green, while 34 closed in the red. Shares of YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, Vodafone Idea, South Indian Bnk, and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of ITI Ltd, Capri Global, Newgen Software, Vaishali Pharma, and Rane Eng Valve hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while M K Proteins, Digidrive Distributo, Muthoot Microfin, Raj Rayon, and GSS Infotech hit their fresh 52-week lows.
