A male passenger on a Mumbai-Bengaluru SpiceJet flight was trapped inside a toilet for nearly 100 minutes early Tuesday morning. The door lock of the toilet allegedly malfunctioned, leaving the passenger stuck inside. The incident took place on Flight SG-268, which departed from Mumbai airport at 2 am. The flight was scheduled to take off at 10:55 pm on Monday. The details of the passenger have not been disclosed. The passenger’s distress calls alerted the crew, who attempted to open the door from outside but failed. In a gesture to comfort the trapped flyer, one of the air hostesses wrote a note on brown paper, informing the passenger that engineers would come to rescue him after landing. The flight finally landed at Kempegowda International Airport at 3:42 am. Engineers boarded the plane and broke open the door, freeing the traumatized passenger. The passenger was immediately given first aid. SpiceJet has not yet provided a comment on the incident.
