The police in Assam have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Congress’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra for deviating from the authorized route in Jorhat town. The march, led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, created a chaotic situation when it took a different turn instead of following the approved route. Some people fell due to the sudden rush of people, leading to a stampede-like situation. A suo motu FIR has been registered against the yatra and its chief organizer at Jorhat Sadar Police Station. The yatra, which began on January 14 from Manipur, is set to conclude on March 20 in Mumbai.
