Two colleagues belonging to different religions were assaulted by a gang on Friday evening in Karnataka’s Haveri district, marking the third case of moral policing in the region this month. Police responded swiftly and arrested eight suspects linked to the attack. The arrested men have been identified as Abdul Khader Mudgal, Mansoor Tandoor, Mehaboobkhan Badiger, Riaz Halageri, Alwaj Baligar, Abdul Desuru, Mehabub Ali Halageri, and Jahangirsab Kanake. The couple, who work together in a financial company, were returning home on a bike when they were intercepted by the assailants, who began questioning the man’s faith. The situation escalated when they attempted to forcibly remove him from his bike. The duo claimed the attackers subjected them to repeated physical assault.
