One man who has played a crucial role in the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya is Champat Rai. As the general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Rai has been meticulously involved in the brick-by-brick construction of the temple. His association with the Ram temple movement dates back to the 1980s when he provided documentary evidence about Ram Lalla’s abode. Rai, also known as the “encyclopedia of Ayodhya”, actively participated in the karseva in 1992. Born in 1946, Rai was drawn to the RSS ideology from his childhood and has been an important figure in mobilizing youths for the temple movement in the Awadh region. He also holds a leadership role in VHP, the organization that has been steering the temple movement.
